About the Speaker:
Fatima Kardar (BSc 2000), Corporate Vice President, COO and Chief Technical Advisor to Microsoft CTO, is well-known at Microsoft. She is a pioneer who has devoted more than 22 years of her professional life to influencing the direction of technology. She possesses a strong foundation in computer science from LUMS and an MBA from Duke University, giving her a rare combination of business savvy and technical know-how.
Her current position at Microsoft entails a wide range of duties, including developing and directing the organisation's technological strategy, managing cross-company strategic incubations, projects, and programmes, and managing Microsoft's AI scale activities. Her crucial function extends to the OpenAI alliance, a group that is redefining the limits of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, she serves as the Diversity and Inclusion executive sponsor for her division at Microsoft and supports industry-wide diversity programmes, including the LEAP Apprenticeship Programme and Pakistani Women in Computing (PWiC).
